Gallery Statement

1/1/2020 – 12/31/2021

After 20 years of active exhibition and trade fair activities, Wagner + Partner has closed its exhibition rooms on 31.12.2019. Throughout this time the gallery has successfully introduced younger contemporary artists from Germany and abroad to the market.

Particularly noteworthy is the 15-year close and trusting collaboration with the painter Peter Dreher, who died in 2020. With many solo and group exhibitions as well as catalogue publications, we have always tried to make the work of Peter Dreher better known internationally. We keep him and his art in the best of memories.

You are welcome to contact us if you have any questions about the work, of course also if you are interested in buying Dreher's glass paintings or other works, but also if you want to offer us paintings.

Since January 2020, Galerie Wagner + Partner has been continuing its work exclusively in the field of art trade and art mediation.

In addition, Cai Wagner is active in the field of artist consulting as a lecturer and author. Please arrange appointments or inquiries by email.

All around the world, the art industry is in a state of upheaval. Globalization, digitalization, and now the coronavirus crisis are calling the traditional collaboration of artists and galleries into question. What’s more, many galleries have been forced to close for economic reasons. As in other cultural branches, joint marketing can no longer counted on to for success.
This book of advice from Cai Wagner, a Berlin gallery owner who has been following these developments for over twenty years, shows artists new and potentially forgotten ways of taking their careers into their own hands and successfully promoting themselves in the market. In particular, digital platforms offer a range of opportunities for self-promotion: this is where potential new customers can be found and where artists can expand their own reach in the art market. The practical recommendations are contextualized by a candid summary of the development of the art market from the early modern period to today.

This book of advice is available via JOVIS or the Gallery (22,00 €, 96 pages softcover, German only)
