Eckart Hahn

Nexus

4/5/2019 – 5/11/2019

WAGNER + PARTNER is pleased to announce the sixth solo exhibition of the painter Eckart Hahn, Nexus. Eckart Hahn has a unique way of translating special—mostly invisible—connections, to create splendid pictorial renditions. The exhibition Nexus presents Hahn’s latest paintings in an installation-like arrangement, transforming the gallery into a single meta-connection – with various rope-ends that seem to appear from or disappear into the walls.

Rope: connects or binds, disconnects or rescues, and its meaning is dependant on the connection. In Hahn’s works, "rope" is less a symbol than a semantic space. Rather, it is contextual and capable of reconstructing particular and unparalleled creations. Nonetheless, all these works hint at a hidden inner connection. The exhibition titles of recent years elucidate this by way of example: Nexus (2019), Limbus (Limbo, 2017) or Myzel (Mycelium, 2015). Akin to networks, roots or underground channels, they serve to "connect" the iconographic universe of the Reutlinger artist.

Eckart Hahn’s work became well known to a broad public, not later than
the 2018 Distanz-published monograph, Der Schwarze Hund Trägt Bunt
(The Black Dog Wears Colour
). This publication was accompanied by a survey exhibition and readings from the monograph at Haus am Lützowplatz in Berlin.
For the opening on 5th of April there will be a book signing with the artist where the catalog can be purchased for a preferential price of 40,-.

Hahn's solo exhibition Nexus also coincides with Gallery Weekend Berlin and will be open to the public on Sunday, April 28.
